FishView Mini or Standard: which size fits your pond?

FishView Mini dome with small fish in a patio pond

Quick answer: Choose the FishView Standard (Ø 25 × 45 cm, legs 30–60 cm) for garden ponds 45–90 cm deep and fish up to 20 cm. Choose the FishView Mini (Ø 13.5 × 18 cm, legs 15–35 cm) for tiny, patio and bucket ponds 25–45 cm deep and fish up to 10 cm.

FishView comes in two sizes. Both work in the same way: a clear dome on adjustable legs that lets your fish swim up above the water. The difference is the size of the dome, the length of the legs, and the fish and ponds they are made for.

The short answer

  • Choose the Standard for most garden ponds that are 45–90 cm deep, with fish up to about 20 cm.
  • Choose the Mini for tiny ponds, patio ponds and bucket ponds that are 25–45 cm deep, with small fish up to about 10 cm.

Measure your pond first

Measure the depth at the spot where you want to place the dome, not at the deepest point of the pond. The base should stand on the bottom about 5 cm under the water surface, with the dome rising above it. If that spot is between 45 and 90 cm deep, the Standard fits. Between 25 and 45 cm, choose the Mini.

Think about your fish

Fish should be able to swim in and turn around comfortably. The Standard has room for fish up to about 20 cm, such as young koi and larger goldfish. The Mini is made for small fish up to about 10 cm. If your fish are bigger, choose the Standard.
